Create
Presets is the second tab at the top of the Creative pages. It makes ad stills you can run: pick a preset, type the copy, and Tempio returns a finished image at every size the preset draws, in your brand kit.
Two layers
Every still is made in two passes. First an image model draws a scene: the
product, the set, the light and the empty space the copy will sit in, with an
instruction that the picture carries no text, letters, numbers, logos or
watermarks. Then Tempio's own renderer sets your headline, sub-line, badge,
call to action, compliance line and logo over that scene, from fields you
typed and your kit's colours and typeface. Every word Tempio sets comes from a
typed field, so the renderer cannot invent a price, a prize count or a permit
number, and a compliance line is a field that is either filled or refused. A
scene that still has text after one automatic retry is kept and flagged
scene_has_text; the text check covers what that means.
The copy is not sent to the model as something to draw. It reaches the scene prompt in one case only: a graphic ad with no product named uses the headline as the subject the composition is about. The badge, the sub-line, the call to action and the compliance line never reach the model at all.
Before the first still
A workspace needs a brand kit before it can generate: every composite is drawn from one, and a request without one is refused with a sentence saying so. Set it up on the Brand kit tab; until there is one, Presets shows a banner with a Create your brand kit button. Only an owner or an admin can save a kit, so a member sees the banner without the button and is told to ask one of them. A preset that photographs a product also needs one of the kit's labelled products named, which is every preset except the graphic ad.
Choosing a preset
The grid shows each preset with its kind, its ratios and an example composite. The example is drawn in a fixed starter palette over a placeholder scene, so it shows the layout rather than your brand, and it costs nothing to look at. Pick one and the form below it asks for exactly the fields that preset draws. Presets has the seven side by side and when each fits.
The copy fields
| Field | Longest | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Headline | 28 characters | The largest line on the still |
| Sub-line | 80 characters | Under the headline |
| Badge | 20 characters | A filled pill: a deadline, a multiplier, a label |
| Call to action | 16 characters | A filled button shape |
| Compliance line | No limit | Its own band along the bottom |
| Lines | 8 lines of 60 characters | The spec sheet's right-hand column |
Those are the most a template can draw at 1,080 pixels wide, and a preset may set a lower limit on any of them but never a higher one. A preset accepts only the fields it draws: sending a badge to a preset with no badge slot is refused rather than dropped, so what you typed and what the still shows cannot quietly differ. Copy that fits its limit but runs past its box on the image is drawn with an ellipsis, and the record keeps what you typed in full.
Three more refusals, all before anything is generated or counted:
- A preset that requires a compliance line refuses a request without one. The four promo presets require it.
- A word on the kit's forbidden list, anywhere in the copy, is refused with the word and the field named.
- A field that starts
MISSING:is refused. That is the marker thecreative_briefprompt leaves where it could not find a permit, and it is a note to you rather than copy.
References
A reference is an image a new scene is composed to match: an ad from the ad library, one of your earlier stills, or an image in your media library. It is only ever the image. A library ad's headline, offer and small print stay behind, and the copy on your still is yours.
Clone is the verb that composes to a reference, and it runs on your own image key (see your own key below). Tempio's provider draws from the prompt alone: sent a Clone, it fails that still with the reason rather than quietly ignoring the image you chose. A Create draws from the preset and the kit alone, so the form shows the reference picker only under Clone and Edit.
Three verbs
| Verb | What it does | Runs on |
|---|---|---|
| Create | A new scene from the preset and your kit | Tempio's provider, or your own key |
| Clone | A new scene composed to match a reference | Your own key |
| Edit | One of your stills' own scene, changed as you describe, as a new still with the copy you type | Your own key |
Edit takes instructions of up to 600 characters. The form turns Clone and Edit on when the workspace holds a key, and an Edit's reference is one of your stills.
Quantity and ratios
A batch is one to ten stills of one preset. Each still is one scene, generated once at the preset's scene ratio (4:5, or 9:16 for the story preset) and composited at every ratio you tick from the ones the preset draws:
| Ratio | Pixels |
|---|---|
| 4:5 | 1,080 × 1,350 |
| 9:16 | 1,080 × 1,920 |
| 1:1 | 1,080 × 1,080 |
A ratio the preset does not list has no template to draw it and is refused.
The gallery
A batch runs in the background, three stills at a time, and the page follows it until it finishes, refreshing every few seconds for up to ten minutes and saying so when it stops. The batch reads Queued, Generating, Complete, Partly complete or Failed, and each still in it reads Queued, Generating, Done, Failed or Refunded. A still that did not land says why in a plain sentence. Refunded means it was counted against your allowance and the count was put back; Failed means it was never counted.
A still in progress holds the box its picture will fill, at the
preset's first ratio, with a sweep running across it. A finished still shows its
composites, a download for each, the copy it carries and any warnings. Under the
batch, or on its own when no batch is open, Recent stills, with a count
beside the title, lists the workspace's stills newest first with the same card,
so a still from last week can be given another ratio, re-worded, archived or
used in an ad without its batch's link. A batch's own gallery is at /media/create?batch=
followed by its id, which is the link a tool hands back.
The text check
Models asked for no text still draw taglines. After every scene a vision model answers one question: does this image contain legible text? A yes sends the scene back once, automatically, with the no-text instruction stated again and the failure named. The retry is not counted against your allowance.
If the second scene has text too, the still is kept and carries the
scene_has_text warning. It means the picture itself has letters or numbers on
it that nobody typed, such as a word on a product box, a price on a tag or a
watermark.
Look before you use it; generating again or an edit that removes the text are
the two ways out. A check that cannot run stores the scene unchecked rather
than failing a still you paid for.
The other warning a still can carry is font_fallback: the kit's typeface could
not be fetched, so the copy was drawn in Geist, the bundled face.
Add a ratio, edit copy, archive
A finished still's card ends in a row of controls: Edit copy (the pencil) and More (the three dots) at the left, and Use in an ad at the right.
More holds Add and a ratio, such as Add 9:16, for each ratio the preset draws that the still does not hold yet, and then Archive. Add draws that ratio from the scene the still already has. There is no model call and nothing is counted; it takes seconds. While it runs the three dots turn into a spinner, and a refusal is written under the card.
Edit copy opens a dialog with the same fields the request had. Saving draws every ratio the still holds again with the new copy over the same scene, so a 4:5 and a 9:16 never say different things. It is free, and it is how five headlines become five stills of one scene. Save with the button or with Ctrl and Enter (Command and Enter on a Mac). Esc closes the dialog and keeps nothing you typed. If the kit forbids a word, the sentence saying so appears in the dialog, which stays open.
An Edit with instructions is different: it changes the scene, so it is a generation and is counted like one.
Archive takes a still out of the gallery and keeps it, because its composite may already be in an ad. An archived still is marked as such and has no controls: it is not given another ratio or re-worded.
Use in an ad
Use in an ad opens a dialog that asks for an ad account and a ratio. A
ratio the still does not hold yet has to be added first. Tempio copies that
composite into the account's media library, links it to the still
it came from, and writes one upload_media draft on the
account's connection. With no connected ad account the dialog says so and links
to Connections instead. There is no upload draft when the platform already
holds those bytes, or when an upload of them is already waiting, so using one
still in five ads on one account is one upload.
Tempio then opens the create-ad form with the still already chosen. The upload has to apply before an ad that uses the still can, because a platform refuses an ad naming media it has never received. Both are drafts at the gate like every other write, and neither is a change an approval rule clears: the drafts page lists what a rule may approve.
An agent does the same in two steps: register_creative_media for the upload,
then, once the upload has applied, create_ad with the still in
creative.media[] as { mediaAssetId, platformExternalId, role }.
The monthly allowance
Each plan includes a number of generations a billing period: 10 on Free, 100 on Plus, 300 on Pro and Unlimited on Scale. Billing has the whole table. A generation is one scene the model drew for you: a Create, a Clone or an Edit. Adding a ratio, editing copy, the text check's retry and a still that failed cost nothing: a failed generation is refunded, so a batch of ten that lands eight is eight.
When the allowance is spent the Presets tab says so with the upgrade prompt, and
a tool is refused with the usage in the sentence. The prompt opens the plan
dialog for an owner or an admin; a member is told that only one of them can
change the plan. A batch larger than what is
left is queued with the creative_pool_short warning, and the stills past the
limit land Failed without being counted. Agent-message packs are never
spent on generations.
Your own key
An owner or admin can add an OpenAI or Google image key under Settings → Integrations. Once a key is stored, Create, Clone and Edit all run on it, the vendor bills the workspace directly, and nothing is counted against the allowance. Tempio still records every generation, and the meter on that page shows how many ran on the key this period, including any the vendor refused.
A key is checked before it is saved by listing the vendor's models with it. A key the vendor refuses, or one that lists no image model, is not stored. An OpenAI project key without permission to read models is refused at this step. The key is sealed in the same vault as platform tokens, and only its last four characters are ever shown.
Three details about how a key runs:
- With both an OpenAI and a Google key stored, the newest one generates.
- A Google key runs Google's own default image model when the preset names an OpenAI model. Some of Google's image models take no input image, and a Clone or an Edit on one of those is refused.
- A vendor may bill a call that timed out on Tempio's side, so a timeout's sentence never promises that nothing was charged.
Revoking the last key puts Create back on Tempio's provider and the allowance.
From an agent
Your own AI over MCP does the same work with the creative tools:
get_brand_kit, update_brand_kit, scrape_brand_kit,
list_creative_presets, generate_creatives, get_creative_batch,
list_creative_assets, resize_creative and register_creative_media. The
brand kit is also a resource, tempio://workspace/brand-kit, and the
creative_brief prompt fills a preset's fields in the kit's voice with five
headline variants. The MCP reference has each one's scope, input
and output.
Media
The images and videos your workspace holds, how an upload reaches a platform as a draft, and how an agent finds an asset and references it from an ad.
Brand kit
The colours, typeface, voice, compliance line, forbidden words, products and logo every generated still is drawn from, what each role does on a composite, and importing a kit from a website.
