Education ad examples on TikTok

The audience most education advertisers want is already here, talking about exactly this: what they are studying, whether it was worth it, what they wish they had known. That makes the surface unusually well suited to this industry and unusually unforgiving, because the audience compares an institution's video against a hundred unpaid ones from students who have no reason to flatter anybody.

A student, not a prospectus

The recurring creative that works is a current student or a recent graduate talking to a camera about their actual experience: the workload, the timetable, the thing that surprised them, what they do now.

It works because the audience is already watching that content unpaid, in volume, and an institutional video that adopts the same register is not an intrusion. One that adopts a promotional register is.

What fails is the campus film and the achievement montage. Both are aimed at a parent reading a brochure and neither survives a feed built on people speaking plainly.

What to check before you borrow it: whether your students will speak without a script, and whether you can accept what they say. An institution that needs approval over every sentence cannot run this format, and the half-approved version reads as exactly that.

Answer the question the comments always ask

Under any education video the same questions arrive: what does it cost, how long is it, can I do it while working, do I need a particular qualification to start.

The recurring practice that works is to make the next video the answer, plainly, with the number in it. That converts better than any aspirational cut, because the audience is looking for facts they cannot easily find on institutional websites.

The accounts that waste the opportunity reply with a link to an enquiry form, which reads as evasion to an audience that just asked a simple question in public.

What to check: whether you are allowed to state the numbers. Where funding makes the real cost conditional, the honest version says what it depends on, and that video will still outperform the aspirational one.

An intake calendar against a surface with no memory

This industry's spending is governed by deadlines and this surface's creative decays in weeks, which is an awkward pairing in both directions. A format that worked for the last intake is unlikely to work for the next; a video that works now has a short window to matter.

The recurring practice in accounts that persist is building creative continuously through the quiet period rather than commissioning a batch before the ramp, because a batch made in advance arrives with a format that has already been absorbed.

The reading consequence is that competitor examples from a previous cycle are evidence about an audience that has moved on.

What to check: whether your production can run through the year rather than in bursts. That is usually a staffing question, and it decides whether this surface is worth entering at all.

Qualify without deflating the video

The tension on this surface is that qualification — price, requirements, location — is what makes an enquiry useful, and it is also what makes a video feel like an advertisement.

The recurring resolution is to put the qualifier in the words rather than in the tone: a student saying what it cost them and that it was worth it does both jobs at once, and does them more credibly than a caption.

The versions that fail either omit the facts entirely, producing a flood of enquiries admissions cannot use, or lead with them, producing a video nobody watches.

What to check: whether your reporting will show the trade-off. Qualifying reduces enquiry volume and improves enrolment rate, and an account measured on volume will read that as a failure and revert it.

Students talking, and institutions listening

Why student voices carry the argument here, what the pace does to a format, and what has to be true of your institution before a competitor's angle is available to you. The live examples that illustrate each angle come with the ad library.

Reach that reaches the wrong catchment

Delivery will find an audience for a video whatever you asked for, and for education that frequently means people far outside the catchment or the age range the programme serves. A healthy view count can be almost entirely people who could not enrol if they wanted to.

Speed is the second mechanic, and it collides with an intake measured in months: a fortnight of data describes a format's life cycle rather than a creative's quality.

Qualification has to live in the creative

Budget and targeting sit above the creative and the creative does most of the aiming, which in this industry means the targeting alone will not keep out the people admissions cannot serve. The other structural choice is whether the ad runs from the institution's account or from a student's own post — the two look alike in a feed, and the second is frequently the one that performs.

A page that does not evade

A visitor from here is interested, on a phone, and may be at an age where somebody else pays. The pages that convert answer the cost, the duration and the requirements immediately and put the enquiry form after them. A page that opens on a form with no numbers reads as evasion to an audience that has just watched somebody answer the same questions plainly.

What to take from an example

Who spoke, and what they were asked, separately from what the institution claimed. The date, and where it fell in the cycle. The comments, which are the enquiry questions arriving for free and in priority order.

Underneath it, the account still has to be read against the same week of the previous cycle rather than against last Tuesday, and that reading — which videos produced enquiries that could enrol, which produced views — is mechanical work an agent with read access to the connected accounts can hold. Whatever it proposes is a change request carrying the state it would alter, applied when it is approved by you, or by a rule you wrote.
